Independence Day of the United States, called also Fourth of July or July Fourth in the U.S., is an official holiday recognizing the reception of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776, by the Continental Congress The subject pertains to announcing that the thirteen American provinces called themselves a new country, the United States of America, and not some portion of the British Empire anymore.[1] Independence Day is the National Day of the United States.
